Skiing the Vallée Blanche under the full moon is an extraordinary experience, which will take you in the heart of the high mountains. Soak up the magical atmosphere, the play of light and shade, the silhouettes and the stars. At nighttime - for over 20 km and 2000 m of elevation gain - our mountain guides will lead you on the glacier among seracs and crevasses, at the foot of the legendary Mont-Blanc summits and peaks. After making the most of the last daylights, a dinner awaits you in the welcoming refuge du Requin. Experience the special feeling given by skiing in the middle of the night.
The Vallée Blanche by moonlight is reserved to experienced skiers in good physical shape. You will need to walk around 20/30 minutes with the skis on your back to reach the Buvette des Mottets and ski down to Chamonix. According to the moon position, you could need a high power head torch in some sections. The descent to Chamonix is completely by ski, which means that the programme is subject to actual snow conditions.

Ability level : The descent of the Vallée Blanche is for skiers who can control their speed and know how to skid and make turns determined by the route. The technical difficulties are comparable to those of a black run. In case of fresh snow, the descent of the Vallée Blanche is similar to off-piste skiing in powder snow. It therefore requires adequate experience.
Season after season, global warming profoundly alters the morphology of glaciers. The Vallée Blanche is no exception; if you've skied this route before, you're likely to be very surprised. The crevasses are more present than before and wide slopes have given way to cramped passages. The level required to ski the Vallée Blanche has therefore significantly increased overall in recent years.
